Amanda Landry, MSc(OT), OT Reg, (Ont.) and Co-Founder

Amanda received her Master's degree in Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2011, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and English from Dalhousie University. She holds the status of Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto; is in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario; and is a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists.
Amanda's background includes working with individuals from all walks of life with a variety of strengths and challenges. As a teen, Amanda began teaching groups of children and adolescents as a figure skating instructor. In 2010, she seized the opportunity to travel to Tanzania to experience a community-based pediatric clinic working in seating and mobility, and community support programs. She remains an active member of the International Centre for Disability and Rehabilitation - Tanzania. Her passions include getting fun and creative to develop meaningful programming, teaching employment and life skills to teens and young adults with disabilities, and advocating for individuals with disabilities on a local and global scale. Amanda was delighted to work at JVS Toronto in 2012 as a Workforce Specialist/Job Coach running a summer job program for post-secondary students with autism & Asperger's; and again in 2014 facilitating their ASD Employment Support program. In addition to her work with Dream Weavers, Amanda is currently employed at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehab. In this role, she supports children (up to 18 yrs) in an outpatient rehabilitation program to promote their independence and well-being!
Amanda has completed training in Cognitive Orientation to Daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP), an intervention approach that utilizes metacognitive strategies to improve occupational performance. In 2012 and 2014, Amanda had the privilege of attending the Woodview International Conference - Stages of Autism: Adolescence & Beyond. At these wonderful events, she attended workshops by renowned professionals in areas including Cooking with Autism, Development of Adaptive Sexual Skills, and Advancing Vocational Outcomes for Individuals on the Autism Spectrum. She eagerly incorporates new learning into her practice!
Amanda enjoys facilitating groups as well as working with members one-on-one and brings her passion for fostering inclusive communities to all of her work. Regardless of the specific work she is doing, Amanda loves the opportunity to get creative and learn from and with members and their families while supporting them in the achievement of their goals.
At this time, Amanda is providing clinical leadership, program coordination, and consultation services but is not currently providing 1:1 services.
