Occupational Therapist

Availability:
Tuesday to Thursday
Danielle is a registered Occupational Therapist, who received her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto. She is in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, and is a member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.

Danielle has been part of the Dream Weaver’s team since early 2019. She was eager to jump in and work with the community of individuals who participate in 1:1 and group programming. Danielle’s passion for accessibility and equal opportunity comes across through her creative and collaborative spirit. She employs strengths-oriented and person-centred approaches with her clients, using coaching, role-playing and hands-on learning opportunities to support them in working towards their goals.

Danielle has professional experience working with individuals across the lifespan. She is currently employed at VHA Rehab Solutions, working with children 0-18 to support their development, growth, and engagement in home and school environments. She also works part-time at Sunnybrook St. John’s Rehab, creating and implementing individualized treatment programs for patients recovering and regaining independence post-injury or illness. Danielle’s experience working with clients of diverse ages, backgrounds, and needs has equipped her with excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills – all while keeping client interactions comfortable, warm, fun and engaging.

Danielle engages in regular professional development opportunities to enhance her knowledge and clinical skills. She has attended a multi-day course specific to Autism Spectrum Disorder, and completed an introductory workshop on the Cognitive Orientation to Daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP) Approach, which employs cognitive strategies to support occupational performance needs. She is additionally partaking in courses focusing on cognitive-behavioural interventions, as well as executive functioning. She is excited to apply her knowledge and continuously learn from the clients and families that she serves!
