An Intro to Life & Employment Skills Program for Teens & Young Adults with ASD & Developmental Differences

We have run this group a total of eight times!

What is the Dream Weavers Discovery Course?

The Discovery Course is a general introductory group program that focuses on supporting teens and young adults on the Autism Spectrum or with Developmental Differences in the development of life and employment skills in an open and creative environment. The program also addresses ways to make friends, build connections within the community, and prevent social isolation.

What is involved?

Each week of the program:

  • There is a 2-hour* group session consisting of interactive lessons, discussions, hands-on creative work, and/or community experiences
  • Each group member has the option of receiving one full hour of one-on-one individualized goal-planning
  • We cover a different topic each session using a variety of teaching methods and tools!

This program has been created to provide fun and engaging learning experiences to support you in your dream of finding a job or volunteer position, living more independently, and/or creating social connections! 

*The TTC community access session and the cooking session are longer than 2 hours to allow for a complete experience!

Is this program for you?

To participate, you must be:

  • A teen or young adult
  • Motivated
  • Willing to participate in group & one-to-one sessions
  • Interested in meeting new people
  • Comfortable in a group designed for individuals with ASD

When and Where?

Our next Dream Weavers Discovery Course will run in the future based on demand - so please do let us know if you are interested in joining!

WHEN? 
2-hour group sessions run for 10 weeks. 
Private Occupational Therapy 1:1 sessions are scheduled on an individual basis.


WHERE? Most sessions take place at The Centre for Social Innovation 
(720 Bathurst St. -- just South of Bloor St.)
