MIRA ETLIN-STEIN

Co-founder, Director, & Registered Occupational Therapist
M.Sc. (OT), OT Reg (Ont)

Mira holds a Master’s degree in Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology and Humanistic Studies from McGill University. She is a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and is a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists.

Mira's passion for building inclusive communities began as a child when she attended an inclusive arts-based camp for children with & without disabilities. As an adult, she worked as a respite worker at integrated arts-based camps and client homes in multiple provinces, as a one-on-one tutor for individuals with autism & ADHD, as a private and group-based piano teacher, and as a respite worker at the Geneva Centre for Autism. Through these experiences, she fell in love with promoting independence, dignity, and creativity for people with and without disabilities and was thus drawn to studies in occupational therapy.

Mira has worked with individuals of all age groups and various abilities & mental health issues. She graduated from U of T's OT program in 2011, after travelling to Cameroon, West Africa on clinical placement, where she provided OT services, including creating and facilitating a creativity and inclusion based community program for children with and without disabilities.

Mira co-founded Dream Weavers in 2012 with her colleague Amanda and has never looked back! Dream Weavers has changed and grown since that time but remains one of the things that Mira is most proud of.

As an Occupational Therapist, Mira has always thought “outside of the box”, striving to bring a uniquely creative and open attitude to all her professional encounters. Mira's special interests lie in the areas of life & employment skills for teens & young adults, as well as creative expression in group programming.

Mira is providing program direction and clinical support to Dream Weavers programs and staff. She is not currently offering 1:1 services.
