Frequently Asked Questions

Have Questions? You've come to the right place!

Below is a list of questions we often receive.
If you have a question that is not answered here, please feel free to
contact us!

  • As a general guide, our groups are open to those who are 16 to 30 years of age. We work to ensure that group members feel comfortable, are working toward similar goals, and that they are among peers - which isn't always determined by age! Some groups will tend to be a bit younger, others will be a bit older - but we do not restrict our groups by age.

  • Dream Weavers services are currently run both in-person and online.

1:1 sessions: Some of our staff offer sessions virtually while others offer sessions in-person. For in-person, sessions can occur in the community (often at a local coffee shop). Sessions in your home may also be possible but additional travel costs apply.

All group programs are currently being run virtually.

  • Referrals for 1:1 sessions are easy. Just fill out our 1:1 intake form. For groups, the best way to hear when new groups are announced, is to get on our email list.

  • We completely understand that funding for services can be tricky for many families.

Here are a few things you can try:
    1) Do you receive Passport funding? If so, this source of funding covers our services! If you haven't heard of Passport Funding, check it out, you might be eligible!
    2) Check your health insurance - Does it cover occupational therapy? If so, depending on the type of coverage, you may be covered for Dream Weavers groups and/or 1:1 services. If you will be working with an occupational therapy assistant, you’ll need to ask your insurance if they will cover an OTA who is working under the supervision of an OT.

For more information on all of this, check out our Funding Options page here.

  • We get this question all the time! Our groups are designed to be accessible to all. However, we are transparent that our groups are mostly conversation based, so being able to listen and learn, as well as participate conversationally - means that you will get the most out of our groups!
